What we use
Structure and layers inside
Plywood: natural material
Plywood is a composite material manufactured from thin layers, or "plies", of wood veneer that are glued together with adjacent layers, having their wood grain rotated up to 90° to one another. It is an engineered wood from the family of manufactured boards.
All plywood bind resin and wood fiber sheets (cellulose cells are long, strong and thin) to form a composite material.
We use E0.5 Plywood as base for all our products and furniture because it has the smallest amount of formaldehyde. This technology has been developed to reduce the formaldehyde emissions and to contribute to improve air quality within schools, houses, industrial and recreational vehicles.
The formaldehyde emissions resulting have a limit of 0.05 ppm in accordance with the EN 717-1 standard.
Latex: natural material
Latex is a white milky fluid, a stable dispersion of rubber (organic polymer) particles in water collected from the Rubber tree. Latex foam is a form of latex that is lightweight and expanded. Cellular air bubbles are created inside liquid latex, and they can be shaped into different shapes and sizes.
The extension of the foam is defined by the amount of air inside of these cells. The 100% natural latex core we use it also covers the FSC and organic/GOLS certified natural latex. We use 100% natural latex as base for the comfort areas in our upholstery. It is the layer on top of the felt.
Recycled Foam: recycled material
A new material composed of expanded polyurethane, derived from the agglomeration of the component waste of upholstered products (furniture, shoes, seat parts, etc.) and the processing of the remains of expanded polyurethane.
Eco-friendly, recycled and recyclable multiple times which promotes living comfort and energy saving.
We use it as an alternative of Latex, for customers who want only recycled materials as an option.
Felt: complex material
Felt is a textile material that is produced by beating unspun animal hair, recycled fibers and other materials into a pile, obtaining a flat, compact piece of very resistant material. Natural fibers such as sheep, camel or goat wool or synthetic fibers can be used to obtain different thicknesses.
We use it in upholstery for protecting the layer of metallic springs that make sitting comfort possible and on the sides on to the plywood frame.
Wool: organic material
Wool is the textile fiber obtained from sheep and other mammals, especially goats, rabbits, and camelids. The wool knows how to breathes, that is, it absorbs water vapor from the body and eliminates it in the atmosphere.
It also responds dynamically to the environment and helps the body to regulate the temperature and cleans itself.
Repels water rain (think of sheep and how the drops sit on them) and maintain the body warm in winter and cool in summer.
We use it in upholstery for the products that don’t need to look perfect because it has its own personality.
Wadding: natural and recycled material
Soya and Cotton: A lightweight needle punched batting in a blend of Soya and Cotton fibers. It is softer and smoother than traditional battings/waddings with a lovely drape.
Soya fibers are ecofriendly and anti-bacterial. It is made of 50% Soya and 50% Cotton material. Soya fibers are antimicrobial, medium weight and very soft. This wadding is made of 50% soya and 50% cotton fibers.
Recycled Fibers
A heavy, extremely bulky wadding with a soft handle made from 100 % recycled polyester fibers with a high migration resistance. 100% recycled PES batting.
We use wadding in upholstery for the last layer under the textile you seat on.
Quilted materials for the coverlet
Cotton:
- Cotton is a popular choice for quilting due to its softness, breathability, and durability.
- It is available in a wide variety of colors and textures, and can be easily dyed to create custom patterns.
- Cotton quilts are often machine-washable and dryable, making them easy to care for.
Linen:
- Linen is another popular natural fiber for quilting.
- It is known for its strength, durability, and crisp texture.
- Linen quilts are often lightweight and breathable, making them a good choice for warm climates.
Wool:
- Wool is a warm and insulating fiber that is often used in quilted coverbeds for cold climates.
- It is also naturally flame-resistant and moisture-wicking.
- Wool quilts can be heavier than cotton or linen quilts, but they are very durable
